Communities worldwide, and specifically in Africa are facing a great challenge securing fresh water. A scarcity in fresh water is growing due to the deficit between population growth and limited natural resources. This need demands an understanding of water budgets, improving hydraulic designs, and finding unconventional solutions for fresh water supply. At HRI, we are actively providing our expertise and consultancy services, and being involved in water management studies. These studies address various solution schemes including; operation of main canal systems, increasing drainage systems efficiency and detailed hydraulic design of irrigation system main elements, water structures and hydropower schemes.

Focus areas:

 • Wetlands and stream restoration
 • Channel conveyance and efficiency
